Set up in three steps
Connect a cloud account
Sign up and connect AWS, Azure or GCP with read only access, so there is spend to report on.
Create a Slack incoming webhook
In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel that should get cost updates. No app install and no message access.
Paste it in Settings
Add the webhook URL in the console settings and send a test message. The digest and alerts post there from the next run.
What it posts, and when
Two scheduled reports, and alerts when spend jumps or a budget is at risk.
Daily cost digest
Every day at 09:00 UTC: the last complete day of spend against the prior 7 day average, cost by service, top resources, cost spikes, forecast alerts, open recommendations with their potential saving, and budget status with the projected month end.
Weekly summary on Mondays
The last seven complete days against the seven before, split by provider, with the top cost movers, spikes and their excess cost, recommendations applied and still open, and budget health. On Growth it adds a short AI written summary for leadership.
Anomaly alerts
When a service costs more than 50% above its own 7 day average, the alert names the account, service and region, the actual and baseline cost, the size of the spike and its severity. On Growth it adds a short AI written summary.
Budget and alert rules
Budget thresholds, credit alerts and your own alert rules post to the same channel, or to a different webhook set on a single rule.

Every anomaly now comes with a root cause: the alert lists the audit log events it found around the spike (who, what action, which resource) and, for AWS, the usage types that rose. Answers (Expected, Investigating or Wrong cause) are given in the console. See anomaly detection for how baselines work.
Questions
Is there a Slack app or bot I can ask questions?
Not yet. A Slack and Microsoft Teams bot you can ask questions is coming after launch. Today ask questions in the console with Ask Xplorr, or from Claude and other AI assistants through the Xplorr MCP server.
What does Xplorr need in Slack?
Only an incoming webhook URL for the channel you choose. Paste it in the console settings. Xplorr can post to that channel and nothing else; it reads no messages.
Does it work in Microsoft Teams?
Not yet. Teams is coming after launch. Today alerts and digests go to Slack and by email.
Can one alert rule post to a different channel?
Yes. An alert rule can carry its own Slack webhook, which overrides the organization webhook for that rule.
